Sunset Sound 'Lucky Number'

Wow! Now I'm a fan of Bryce Drew, and Greg Wells. Bryce has an impressive voice, her song is really motivating. And what to say about Greg, it was great to listen to his explanations, I learned a lot! And the way he deals with the session, so inspiring!.

I can only say: WOW!! What a journey that was and I,m pretty grateful to see all the pros busy in several elements of this production. You can see Greg not only plays music, he IS music. Also a big compliment for the young singer for her calm open minded way of dealing with songwriting, that starts with a great song by herself, also the guy from Sunset had a great calm attitude and did his very best as well as the intense mastering engineer Brian, who really nailed it with humor and vision together with Greg!!!! Honestly, I'm not into this song or any I've watched so far, but that doesn't detract from the value of watching different engineers do their thing from "start to finish". On a side note, the intro music is so hilariously awful---like the soundtrack to a power tool or army recruitment commercial. Strange choice, imho.

Bryce Drew, such an amazing singer! And songwriter. Up until the entering of the melotrone and the back vocals/harmonies the song had so much potential. All the layers and all the harmonies killed the song. I feel sad for Bryce. I couldn’t watch until the end.

The studio tech at Sunset Sound, shared the trade, his passion, bumps in the road, and his ability to set the stage for the music to be recorded on, record and cue up takes, and his stewardship of the equipment used at Sunset Sound, Prince's favorite studio, although different room. This is actually unbelievable. How efficient Greg is. So much done in so little time. Very inspiring!

Bryce is absolutely incredible! Greg, a proven force and then the assistant engineer is just very average.. I really hope if I was ever working at Sunset that the engineers would be way more across fault finding, patching, pro tools-ing, pre-empting the producer's needs and just being more on top of everything. That all said, loving this series!

God is not happy this time with beat detector on the tracks provided to mix at the minute 2:09 ...MESSSSS hahaha anyway great Videos, learning so much !

Gregg is my favorite producer because he understand music way deeper than others. He is a multi instrumentalist and plays piano at very high level. His harmony skills are impressive, sometimes he introduce some great chords to the songs. It's great to see him producing, the only thing I would say is about his electric bass joyce, I kind tend to hate rickenbacker basses....anyway.... great series, thanks to everyone involved.

No exercise files? Why not just a simple before and after so we can hear a HD comparison in the DAW?

What a depressing ending of an otherwise above average series! If anything, I learned about a few mistakes to avoid them myself. I also listened to the final release on YouTube Music and really feel sorry for Bryce. It was almost there. But the final mastering and some careless edits in her vocal make the final record sound strained and glitchy. For example, at 1:14 the glitch on the word 'close' is an unforgivable mistake and should never have passed critical listening approval. I just started watching and really hope the other series will be of higher quality.
