The Song:

In our recent epic Start To Finish Series featuring Greg Wells, we saw Greg and Bryce Drew head to world-famous Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, California to finish composing the song "Lucky Number," create an entire production, mix it on the incredible custom discrete console in Studio A and bring it to Magic Garden Mastering for the final touches with Brian Lucey.

Now it's your turn to sit in Greg Wells' seat and mix "Lucky Number" from Bryce Drew for a chance to win one of three massive prize packages from our friends at Acustica Audio and Studio DMI, Including Greg's latest plugin, The El Rey Compressor.

Winners will be announced in our special Livestream event with Greg Wells, happening Friday, March 13th at 1pm EST, where you will get to ask him all of your questions about the production of Lucky Number, his career, El Rey, and anything else you can think of!

How To Win:

Mixing is an art form, the winner will be chosen based on the judges' TASTE. There are no absolute rules. Don’t be upset if your version of this mix does not make it to the top.

The pureMix team will listen to ALL of the mixes and pick 3 winners.

• Upload your mix by 11:59pm EST March 4th, 2020
• Make sure you send in the right song (Don't laugh, it happens quite a bit)
• Don't send the mentor's original mix hoping that we won't notice (Don't laugh, it happens quite a bit)
• Make sure the vocal/drums/bass/guitars are not muted in your mix. Especially the lead vocal. (We think the production was quite nice and would love to hear all of it.)
• Don't change the tempo/key/arrangement. This is a MIXING challenge.
• Louder is not better, we level match everything before we listen (You know who you are)
• Consider using the pureMix LUFS Analyzer to help reach a reasonable final level!
