How do I watch pureMix.net tutorials?

1. Browse our catalog of tutorials where you can filter the library by the topic, mentor, or date/rating
2. Select a tutorial that tickles your fancy.
3. Press play and the pureMix video player streams the tutorial to you via your web browser.

Can I download pureMix.net videos?

Sorry but no, we are a streaming video site. Think of pureMix.net as the Hulu or Netflix for the record making community.

The download button next to certain videos lets you access the associated WAV file stems and example audio tracks so that you can practice the techniques you learn from the tutorials.

How long can I watch my videos?

When you purchase a video, you can watch it as many times as you want for a hundred years, after that it turns back into a pumpkin.

If you’re a Pro Member you have access to all of pureMix’s tutorials for as long as your membership is active.

Can I buy a subscription?

Yes! And you should become a pureMix Pro Member! You will get a 24/7 access to ALL pureMix.net content. You will also be able to view all new material added during your membership. We also have special partner discounts dedicated to our Pro Members as well as private mixing contests and free Plug-ins.

Why should I choose a Pro Membership over purchasing individual tutorials?

Am I going to be billed monthly?

pureMix offer different types of plans. Some of them are prepaid plans (for 3 months or 1 year). Some of them are billed monthly. You choose.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover credit cards and PayPal payments. Note that paypal payments are not available for monthly plans.

Do you offer a money back guarantee?

Does pureMix work with tablets and mobile devices?

Which internet browser should I use?

We like Firefox, Chrome or Safari and more than 90% of our users do as well.

If you’re using an older browser pureMix videos will need the latest version of Adobe Flash installed on your computer in order to play correctly.

pureMix.net also supports mobile devices (all iOS devices and newer versions of Android) using the built in web browser. We can’t vouch for the quality of the audio D->A converters on those wonderful little boxes though.

Needless to say that your browser will work better if it is up to date.

How do I get my FREE Plug & Mix plug-in?

All new pureMix Pro Members receive receive a FREE Plug & Mix plug-in license (limited to one license per pureMix account).

Once you have purchased your Pro Membership, you will be able to order the plug-in of your choice from your My Discounts page

Why is the volume of pureMix.net lower than YouTube/Vimeo/other sites?

Ah! Great question. Because most other websites could care less about audio and we take extreme pride and care with our video player’s audio quality.

Think about it this way: If we play you an example of a bass drum recorded in different positions, do you want to hear exactly what we hear and be able to understand the subtle differences between the microphone placements or do you want us to compress and limit the hell out of everything so you don’t have to touch your volume knob but then hear less differences?

That’s the tradeoff, either we allow you to hear what we hear, or we enter the loudness war.

We chose the former: pureMix.net is actually calibrated at -18dBFs average across the board. AND, we are encoding our videos so that audio ALWAYS has priority over video and the sound quality never suffers in low bandwidth situations. We care about sound.

Can I try this at home?

That’s the whole point. We recommend that you set yourself up in your studio to watch and listen to pureMix.net tutorials on the same system that you are used to making music with.

Make sure that your web browser’s audio outputs point to the same outputs as your DAW’s audio outputs and enjoy the capability to try examples right away, as soon as you see them in the video, in a familiar environment.

You can also download the WAV files to do your own mix and then compare your mix, instrument by instrument, with the tips and tricks in the video.

If you are viewing the videos on the same computer it’s easy to go back and forth to get sonic perspective when you need it.
